Highlighted below are some questionable players and their injury status for Sunday. Just because they are playing doesn’t always mean start them in your lineup. For example, no one wants 3 touches for 10 yards and the player being forced from the game due to injury aggravation.

Christian McCaffrey
This is one of my toughest choices all week. McCaffrey as of today is a game-time decision for Sunday’s game against the Patriots. If he plays, he will make an impact because he is matchup-proof. That is what made him the number-one overall pick in most fantasy leagues. However, it is important to have an alternate player ready such as Chuba Hubbard (his backup) just in case they opt to let McCaffrey get one more week’s rest.
James Robinson
Robinson has a heel bruise that has held him out of practice the last two days. As of this morning, the projections do not look great for him. Against the tough Buffalo Bills front it might be wise to hold him out of your lineup for this week since there are too many factors going against him.
Deebo Samuel
He is listed as questionable with a calf injury and is “eager to play” this week against the Cardinals. Coach Kyle Shanahan said the injury is “worse this week,” so that is a cause for concern. It is looking like he will play this week and be a full participant in the game with no restrictions. It seems they do not want him to suit up only to play a few snaps. There is a long term vision in mind if he is not 100%.
George Kittle
Another calf injury. Kittle was just activated off the IR and has a shot to play this week as well. With the high draft capital Kittle cost fantasy managers, he is a must-play if given the green light by the team. He is too good at his position and there are not many other tight ends that can do what he does on the field. Hopefully Kittle can put injuries behind him and finish this season strong for your fantasy lineup.
AJ Brown
Brown has another knee injury after having both operated on last offseason. He did not practice on Friday, but there is little doubt he will play against the Rams this Sunday evening. He has a tough matchup against Jalen Ramsey and company, but he won’t be shadowed all night long so he will get his volume like he normally does.
Elijah Mitchell
This is beginning to feel like a 49er injury report. Somehow this team is always one of the most beat up in all of the NFL. Mitchell is dealing with a rib injury and has worn the noncontact jersey in the last two practices. If he plays and Jeff Wilson Jr. is not activated, he is worth the start. For instance, he has been the most successful runner in this scheme.
CeeDee Lamb
Lamb sprained his ankle in Wednesday’s practice this week and is “genuinely questionable this week.” He is an automatic start in your lineup if he is cleared. Dak is back with no injury designation and they are at home against a struggling Broncos team that will not move the ball well.
Robert Woods
He is dealing with a foot injury and he (along with Matt Stafford) was held out of Friday’s practice. It looks like a veteran’s day off as they prepare to host the Titans suspect coverage in LA this Sunday night. Though he is not producing like Cooper Kupp, he will get his share of targets and benefit from the Rams high-flying attack.
Kenny Golladay
Kenny G looks like he will be back from his three week absence and play against the Raiders. I feel like he is going to be on a snap count just to get his legs back under him. The Giants have a bye next week and it makes too much sense to give Golladay an extra week to fully heal just like teammate Saquon Barkley.
David Montgomery
Earlier this week, it seemed that Montgomery would return from the IR against Pittsburgh on Monday night, but now it is looking like he won’t, which is good thing. The Bears have an upcoming bye week and will most likely give him the extra week to get some practice in. This will result in him being ready for action the following week against the Ravens.
