Please note, these are recommendations and are not promises of performance. Not every fantasy roster is going to have a better option to play instead. For example, I have to play DJ Moore this week and hope for the best because I am in a custom league with a thin waiver wire.
Obvious stars like Christian McCaffrey, Davante Adams, and Lamar Jackson will not be featured in these articles unless there is an injury that is really concerning.
Start of the Week: Damien Harris
The Patriot’s running game has finally taken off. In the last few games, Harris has been on full display as the main guy. The Carolina defense might be tough on the run, but over the course of the game they will break down since their offense will not be able to do much on the other side of the ball.
Jaylen Waddle
A weak Texans defense that Waddle can exploit with his speed and shiftiness sounds tantalizing. The Dolphins should have a great day overall against a clear inferior opponent. Davante Parker is now on the IR for 3 weeks so this is a prime chance for Waddle to capitalize.
Tee Higgins
Cleveland’s defense has been all over the place this year. The offense is banged up and won’t be putting up points like they did in the Chargers game this year. Joe Burrow will dice them up at home and Higgins will get his share of that.
Kirk Cousins
Baltimore is a middle-of-the-road defense. Look for Kirk to bounce back after a disappointing performance against Dallas. When they feed Dalvin Cook, everyone on the offense benefits. Justin Jefferson is about to wreck that defense just like his old college teammate Ja’marr Chase.
Javonte Williams
I see Javonte as a potential late-season breakout. Think of him as a Cam Akers of this year, who didn’t start making a fantasy impact until the back half of the season. Every time he touches the ball there is a missed tackle, which he leads the league in forcing.
Zach Moss
He has an easy matchup vs the Jaguars this week. He is the better back on the better team and will see a lot of work in the game with Buffalo holding a lead just about the whole game.
Sit of the Week: Chase Claypool
His projections look great, but Big Ben’s decline seems to have impacted Claypool the most. The deep ball is not there, so the only hope is a slant or screen pass to the house. He is also the third option behind Diontae Johnson and check down specialist Najee Harris.
Kyler Murray
The injury to his ankle worries me. He did not perform all that well just a few weeks back against SF and now he has an injury that will limit his biggest asset, his legs. Play him if you have to, but there are some streamer options such as Tua, who is only rostered in about 45% of leagues playing against Houston this week.
Update 11/5/21: Murray and Hopkins game-time decision.
DJ Moore
Sam Darnold has not played great, but PJ Walker won’t play any better if Darnold doesn’t suit up. Moore is far and away the best option on this team especially if CMC does not play. Belichick is too good at taking away an opposing team’s number-one weapon.
Brandin Cooks
The Dolphins have not played that great, but they still have two shutdown corners that can stick to Cooks like glue. I don’t think they get much of anything going this week because the Dolphins offense will not blow them out and give them a chance at garbage time like last week vs the Rams.
